The UK retailer is rolling out a scan-as-you-shop trial to an additional 20 stores in what the company says is a bid to save customers time at check-out.
The service allows customers to scan products as they walk around a store and keep a tally of how much they’re spending by doing so. The trial, which will see Scan as You Shop available at self-service check-outs as well as manned check-outs, will mean the service is available in nearly 350 stores across the UK.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to shop with us,” a Tesco spokesperson said. “Scan as You Shop is already used by over 600,000 customers every week, and not only saves time at the check-out, it enables customers to track their spend as they go, too. This new trial will mean more customers than ever before can benefit from the service and check out in a matter of seconds.”
