Want to be a mentor?

If you’ve always wanted to be a mentor but ‘don’t have the time’, MyRoad could be the answer.

Coca-Cola Australia has, for the past two years, founded a mentoring initiative in partnership with the Beacon Foundation, which allows business professionals to mentor from their desks.

To give students around the country the best start for success, the MyRoad online mentoring programme joins those business professionals with high-school students in regional areas throughout Australia. Since launch, more than 3,200 young women have completed the programme, more than 200 MyRoad mentor sessions have been run online, and more than 296 volunteer mentors have registered with MyRoad, from more than 150 companies.

Christine Black, Director of Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability at Coca-Cola South Pacific, says MyRoad mentoring is part of Coca-Cola’s global commitment to economically empower five million women by 2020.

“We know that in different countries around the world, women are not able to experience the same opportunities in their career as men,” she said. “Our partnership with Beacon Foundation to bring this to life in Australia is a wonderful outcome for the community, for the staff here at Coca-Cola, and most importantly for the young women we’re mentoring through MyRoad.”
